EUTELSAT 7B is co-located with the EUTELSAT 7A satellite at this new orbital hotspot for customers in South-East Europe, Turkey, the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean. Based on the Spacebus 4000 platform, EUTELSAT 7B, was launched on 14 May 2013 and has been operating at 3° East as the EUTELSAT 3D satellite. Then it was re-located to 7° East.
These additional resources at this spot have enabled existing customers to expand their business and increase in-orbit security, while the very high power available on EUTELSAT 7B makes it particularly suitable for Direct-to-Home (DTH) applications.
A simple dual-feed antenna allows viewers to receive programs from both EUTELSAT 7B and the HOT BIRD neighbourhood at 13° East.
